SMP
Sovereign Media Protocol
A shared digital ownership layer. Entertainment first.
SMP is GEX’s proposal for infrastructure that records holders, permissions and authorised transactions beneath familiar digital experiences.

proposed architecture. evidence before expansion
The missing ownership layer.
The internet made media easy to stream, share and buy. It did not create a widely understood layer connecting a holder, defined entitlement, scoped consent, authorised transactions and agreed settlement across applications.
SMP is designed to make those rights and records clearer and easier to verify – and, where terms and law allow, more portable – without asking people to become infrastructure experts.
Five reusable functions.

01
Ownership Graph
Records the current holder and authorised history.
02
Consent Layer
Records permission for a defined purpose, scope and period.
03
Issuance Rail
Creates a digital key representing an issuer-defined entitlement.
04
Settlement Engine
Applies agreed payment, fee or royalty rules to an authorised transaction.
05
Zero-knowledge Proof
Can check a defined fact with less disclosure where technically appropriate.
What we do
“Entertainment makes sovereign ownership visible. Evidence makes it credible, Reuse can make it a protocol”
Scott Ainsworth – SMP Creator & GEX Cofounder
Why entertainment comes first.
Memberships, content, tickets, rentals and permitted transfers make digital ownership tangible. GEX Entertainment is intended as the first bounded test of usability, rights clarity, settlement, privacy, operations and voluntary participation.
Evidence before expansion.
SMP has not yet passed these tests. Specifications, development, audits, privacy review, recovery testing, integrations and launch benchmarks remain incomplete. Broader reuse should follow demonstrated usability, reliability, security and value – not assumption.
Clear limits.
SMP is designed to improve records and coordination – not remove risk. It cannot guarantee security, privacy compliance, truth, resale demand, service continuity or unlimited holder control. Rights remain subject to issuer terms and law. Every application still needs sound inputs, tested recovery, effective operations and accountable governance.

SMP is GEX’s proposal for shared infrastructure that records holders, permissions and authorised transactions beneath familiar digital applications. It is a proposed architecture and product direction, not a launched or validated protocol.
Digital media has mature layers for access, distribution, payments and social reach, but no widely understood ownership layer connecting a holder, defined entitlement, scoped consent, authorised transactions and agreed settlement across applications.
A digital key would link a verified holder to an issuer-defined entitlement, such as access, membership benefits, event entry or a permitted transfer right. Holding a key does not automatically confer copyright, unrestricted use, resale rights or permanent service. Product terms and applicable law define the actual rights.

No. SMP has not yet passed its validation tests. Specifications, development, audits, privacy review, recovery testing, integrations and launch benchmarks remain incomplete.
No. Transfer is available only where issuer terms and law allow it. Transferability does not guarantee a buyer, demand, income or value. SMP does not determine that commercial terms are fair.
Possibly, but these are not committed products or a launch roadmap. Any new application would need a suitable issuer, defined user problem, application-specific terms, integration, governance, legal review and evidence that SMP improves the existing workflow.
A bounded entertainment application should demonstrate usability, clarity of rights, reliable settlement, privacy in practice, operational value and willing participation. Broader reuse should follow demonstrated usability, reliability, security and value – not assumption.
